About me

Lausenheim

My name is Laus Sørensen. I am a Danish expat and have lived in Prague since January 2007. My job here is to help Danish guests get the best possible experience out of visiting Prague. I book hotels and holiday apartments, and I organise tours and excursions in Danish.

I am originally trained as a teacher. My main subjects are Danish and home economics. I was an boarding-school teacher for 8 years, and one of my tasks was to cook for the rest of the students and staff at the school together with a group of students. Later, I was deputy headmaster for 10 years before I decided to start a new chapter in my life.

I quit my job, moved to Prague and have been taking care of Danish guests in the most beautiful city I know.

Since the Covid pandemic started, it has been more difficult to make a living from tourism. Therefore, I now also have other jobs. The most important is a position as Remote Personal Assistant to the Head of Administration at the Danish magazine Økonomisk Ugebrev. An exceptionally interesting and rewarding job. I also work with various freelance assignments, especially translations.

I love food, I like Czech beer, I have some knowledge of wine and I have visited many of the restaurants here in Prague so I can guide my guests. But I also like to cook a lot and I prefer to make most things from scratch. I'm not hysterical about avoiding ready-made products, but if I have the time and opportunity, I'd rather cook a stock than use a stock cube
